Adolf Hitler
On April 30, 1945, at 3:30 PM, German dictator Adolf Hitler, responsible for the deaths of over 6 million Jews, stood with a gun pointed at his head and committed suicide. However, he did not die alone. Before his death, Hitler planned and executed the murders of his three closest associates. This planning began around 24 hours before his death, on April 29, 1945, at 3:00 PM. At that time, Hitler was using his strong arms to open the mouth of his favorite German Shepherd, Blondi, to insert cyanide capsules. Blondi died immediately from the poisoning. Hitler took this drastic step, which he didn't want to take, for two major reasons. First, he was testing the cyanide because he intended to give it to his newlywed wife, Eva Braun, 15 hours later. Second, Hitler did not want his dogs to suffer or be harmed by Russian soldiers after his death. After killing Blondi, he killed his other dogs, Wolf and four puppies, taking them to the garden to shoot them. With tearful eyes and trembling hands, he shot all five dogs. After their deaths, Hitler buried them in the garden where he often played with them.
Now, we understand why Hitler killed his dogs, but why did he kill his wife, Eva? The first question that arises is why Hitler married Eva just 15 days before his death if he knew his end was near. And if he married her, why did he poison his beloved new wife? To understand this, we need to go back a few hours before Hitler's death.
39 hours before his death, on the night of April 29, 1945, 33-year-old Eva Braun was in her bedroom, dressed in a long black dress with a diamond watch, gold bracelet, and topaz necklace, preparing to marry her 16-year-old love. Eva had loved Hitler since she was 15, and Hitler accepted her love when she was 17. They kept their relationship hidden from the world, with only a few of Hitler's special officers knowing about it. Despite loving Eva deeply, Hitler always believed he couldn't give her the time and children she deserved because of his stress, medications, and physical condition.

On the morning of April 30, Hitler said goodbye to his soldiers and ate his last lunch alone. Meanwhile, Eva prepared herself for death, choosing a black dress with white roses, Hitler's favorite. At 3:30 PM, Hitler and Eva entered a room together, and moments later, a gunshot was heard. Hitler's special officers, Linch and Bormann, entered the blood-soaked room, carried out the bodies, and burned them with petrol at 3:50 PM. By 6:00 PM, the ashes of Hitler and Eva were scattered in the garden where Hitler had buried his dogs.
This story reveals a different side of Hitler, showing his caring nature towards his close ones, although it doesn't justify his atrocities against humanity. Despite the cruel dictator he was, he showed a caring side towards his clan, including his dogs.
